Group Health Insurance For Your Small Business

As a group you've decided you would like insurance, but you're going to have to try that find small business group health insurance and then decide what type of plan the group wants.

It doesn't matter whether you're an employee or an employee if you're looking for group health, you're still able to get quotes. So if you're a group of employees that want to have health insurance, as a group you can find plan.

There are several things that are very basic to most group health plans, first of all, by law everyone will be accepted in the group, they cannot deny the group because of one person's underlying/previous medical condition. So everyone in the office can be covered no matter their past medical conditions even if they have been turned down before.

Also, you'll have to get into your state insurance commission. This is where a lot of the decisions for group health insurance are already made. Your state law dictates what diseases and what problems are covered. So you don't have a lot of decisions to make with that.

The group or the employer must decide on the type of group insurance plan such as a PPO, HMO, or POS type plan.

An HMO is a health maintenance organization, and is usually a little bit less expensive, but also, it's not very flexible. The PPO is a preferred provider organization, a little bit more expensive than an HMO, but you do not have to stay within your network it does cost a little more if you go out of it.

A point of service plan is the POS group health plan, you choose your doctor, but can still go outside of the preferred provider if you need to, it just costs you more.

So as a group, you'll have to decide what type of plan you want, and of course, you'll be under your state insurance commission as to what is covered and what is not.
